Major Emphases

Every English major is encouraged to emphasize their studies in an area of interest, or in an area directly related to their future academic or professional plans.

The following pages list the areas of emphasis we encourage students to follow. These courses can be used to fulfill the emphasis/elective portion of your English major curriculum and, as applicable, may count for other Group I and Group II requirements. You should always consult an English advisor regarding your course choices to ensure they will fulfill any outstanding major requirements.
