Three Undergraduates Recognized by the University Libraries

Three undergraduates, Robert Tully, Lenaya Stewart, and Xiuyu Shen, are recognized by the Library Award for Undergraduate Resesarch Committee and the University of Maryland Libraries.

 

 

Robert and Lenaya have been selected as winners of the 2015 Library Award for Undergraduate Resesarch and Xiuyu has been selected as an Honorable Mention. The three students' recognized research papers are available to read on the Digital Repository at the University. Lenaya and Xiuyu are both English majors and their advisors are Laura Rosenthal and Ralph Bauer, respectively. Lenaya's paper is titled, "Purity through Nature: A Comparative Analysis of Metaphoric Structures Linked to Nature in the Poetic Works of John Donne and Langston Hughes," and Xiuyu's paper is titled, "Christopher Columbus: Christoferens or Pharisee?" Robert, a physics major and a student in the Professional Writing Program, titled his paper, "Genetically Engineered Food Right-to-Know: Recommendations for Specific, Unthreatening, and Accurate GE Food Labels."

The three students will be recognized at the Undergraduate Research Day on April 29th.
