Martha Nell Smith Speaks in Washington DC, Paris, Among Other News

Martha Nell Smith was invited to speak about her biography of Susan Dickinson on a “Writing about Writers” panel at the Biographers International Organization (BIO) Conference, National Press Club, Washington, D.C., 6 June 2015.

In May, she gave a plenary address, "Digital Erasures and Frozen Social Relations, Institutional and Individual Biographical Challenges,” at Digital Diversity 2015: Writing, Feminism, Culture, Edmonton, CA, 7-9 May 2015
 
In March, Smith gave a keynote, “Frozen Social Relations, Digital Archives Dickinson and Whitman” for the Walt Whitman & Emily Dickinson: A Colloquy, Université Paris-Est Créteil, March 12-13, 2015
 
Also this spring, an in-depth interview with her was released published: 

“Not Just the Belle of Amherst. . .Emily Dickinson’s Deep and Abundant Poetry,” Simply Charly interview 28 March 2015.

August 7-9, along with Jane Wald, Executive Director of the Emily Dickinson Museum, Smith will help host “Dickinson in Her Elements," the Emily Dickinson International Society (EDIS) Annual Meeting/Conference 2015.

Smith also published, “Unable and Unwilling: the Other Woman’s Love Poem for the Wife,” Great Writers Occupy Golden Handcuffs Review 20 (Spring 2015), 272-277. A response to Joseph Donahue’s “Unable” in “a continuing anthology of the best and liveliest innovative writing.”
