UMD English Listed in Top 10 Public R1 Universities Graduating the Most English Majors

Recent workforce analysis focused on the public R1 universities graduating the most english majors in the United States.

The University of Maryland Department of English ranked the top 10 universities in the Mid-Atlantic and North Eastern U.S. public R1 universities graduating the most English majors in the United States.

The list was complied by Steppingblocks, a big data analytics company that provides workforce and education analytics. The analysis noted that "the power and importance of storytelling continue to remain at the forefront of employers" and additionally highlighted how important "critical thinking is to the arts and humanities, which employers consistently rank as a highly desirable skill." 

Steppingblocks also noted the top industries employing literature majors are education, information technology, healthcare, finance, and government.
