A Sense of Tales Untold has been named a finalist for the 2022 Mythopoeic Scholarship Award

Senior Lecturer Peter Grybauskas's recent book, A Sense of Tales Untold, has been named a finalist for the 2022 Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Inklings Studies. The book examines the uncanny perception of depth in Tolkien’s writing and world-building.

The Mythopoeic Society is a non-profit organization devoted to the study of mythopoeic literature, particularly the works of members of the informal Oxford literary circle known as the “Inklings.”  The Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Inklings Studies is given to books on J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and/or Charles Williams that make significant contributions to Inklings scholarship. For this award, books first published during the previous three years are eligible. Short-listed books from the previous year are automatically re-nominated for the next year’s long list.
