English Senior Spotlight: Sarah Choi

Sarah Choi is a double major in English Language & Literature and Secondary Education.

Why did you decide to become an English major?

I really love reading and I wanted to immerse myself in classes with people who share the same curiosity and love for different texts and authors around the world.

What clubs, campus groups, internships, outside of class projects have you been involved with?

I was in the Iota cohort of the Design, Cultures, and Creativity Honors Program and was an active member of the Student Council. I was a member of the Teacher Education Association of Maryland Students for four years and served as President of the student organization for two years. I was also a College of Education Student Ambassador. I really enjoyed planning events because it was a creative outlet for me and I really loved seeing people come together and have a good time.

Critically analyzing a text and the author's intentions

What is your dream job or career?

Teaching high school English in Maryland

What are you passionate about (or even curious about)?

Equitable and accessible education for all
More representation in children, adolescent, and adult literature!
