Writing Center In Demand

The Graduate Student Government has requested that Educational Affairs Committee of the University Senate make the Writing Center available to graduate students.
On October 9, 2008 the Diamondback wrote about the services provided by the Writing Center in another reminder of Maryland English's vital role in the university.
Even the brightest of doctoral students need occasional help with a paper, it seems. Technical writing, professional writing, grant writing, and writing for the job market were cited as key skills that the Writing Center could help develop. The Writing Center provides a supportive laboratory for student writing, and Department Lecturer and Director Leigh Ryan looks forward to expanding these services for graduate students.
