Share-A-Bear

November 22, 2016 English | Center for Literary and Comparative Studies

That time of the year is here! Share-A-Bear (Or Any New Stuffed Animal)!

For the last 24 years, an estimated 47,900 bears have been donated during this period from the University of Maryland and given to children in need.  Last year about 900 were collected on campus.  Pleas consider donating "NEW" bears or any stuffed animal for children in need.  All of the collected stuffed animals will be given to the Weinberg Women's Health Center for Women in College Park. The Center will distribute the stuffed animals to needy families."  Any stuffed animal will be accepted - as long as the animal is NEW.  Used stuffed animals, however nice, cannot be accepted because of health rules. Please donate a new stuffed animal or two and the children receiving them will love them!

Help make this year the most memorable for the children.  Last year, the English Department collected 35 stuffed animals. The goal for this year is to be as close to 100 as possible. The drive ends Monday, December 19th, but we'll accept late bears through Tuesday, December 20th, at 1:00PM.

There will be two boxes to collect stuffed animals: one box will be on the 1st floor lobby and the other box will be on the 2nd floor in front of the MEO (2119)

Thank you, and have fun picking out that special stuffed animal!
