Semester GRB Awards Announced

June 30, 2010 English

We're delighted to share the news that five English Department faculty members have received Semester Graduate Research Board (GRB) Awards.

These semester awards are intended to allow faculty to devote full-time to their research and scholarly work.  The total of five awards equals the Department’s highest number for a single year (which has happened only once before).

Those receiving Semester GRBs and their projects are:

  1. Regina Harrison, "Visions of the Cloister: Sor Getrudis's The Mystical Pearl (1709-1717)"
  2. Thomas Moser, “Chaucer and Neoplatonism”
  3. Sangeeta Ray, “An Ethics of Postcolonial Reading”
  4. Orrin Wang, “Romantic Sobriety:  Sensation, Revolution, and Commmodification in the Romantic Imaginary”
  5. Mary Helen Washington, “The Other Black List:  The African American Literary Left on the 1950s”

Please join us in extending a warm congratulations to all five.
