Neil Fraistat Gives Welcome Address at Digital Humanities Conference in Switzerland

Neil Fraistat, chair of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO), delivered the welcome address at the opening ceremony of the Digital Humanities 2014 conference in Lausanne, Switzerland in July.

Neil's two-year term as Chair of ADHO ended at the conclusion of the conference, but not before he delivered the opening address. ADHO promotes and supports ditigal research and teaching across all arts and humanities disciplines, acting as a community-based advisory force, and supporting excellence in research, publication, collaboration and training. Each year, ADHO organizes and sponsors a conference. This year, the conference was the largest to date with nearly 800 attendees. In Neil's opening remarks, he addressed ADHO's growth, as well as the challenges the organization faces. Neil also spoke to the group's accomplishments and presented prizes on behalf of the organization.
