Maud Casey is a 2015 Recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship

Professor Maud Casey is a 2015 recipient of a fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.

Professor Casey is the author most recently of The Man Who Walked Away (Bloomsbury, 2014). During her fellowship, she will be working on a linked collection of stories, provisionally titled "Iconographies," which takes as its starting point images of women in a nineteenth-century reference book from the Salpêtrière Hospital.

Professor Casey is the English department's 5th winner in the past 7 years. She joins 9 other current faculty members who are Guggenheim laureates: Vincent Carretta, Michael Collier, Merle Collins, Regina Harrison, Matthew Kirschenbaum, Robert Levine, Howard Norman, Stanley Plumly, and Joshua Weiner.

In addition, 11 other former and emeritus faculty members from our department have received Guggenheim fellowships: Eric Bentley, Adele Berlin, Carl Bode, Gladys-Marie Fry, John Fuegi, Annabel Patterson, Bill Peterson, Jack Salamanca, Sam Schoenbaum, Reed Whittemore, and Cal Winton.
