Main English Office Launches 2015 Share A Bear Drive

November 04, 2015 English | Center for Literary and Comparative Studies

The Main English Office is requesting donations of "NEW" bears or any stuffed animal for children in need.

Eleven years ago the Bonnie Johns Children's Fund dissolved but because of popular demand and your dedication, we have continued the teddy bear drive on campus and will distribute the bears to non-profit organizations working with children in need and crisis. These stuffed animals are given to children in homeless shelters, foster care, and in crisis.  We accept any stuffed animal as long as the animal is NEW.  Used stuffed animals, however nice, cannot be accepted because of health rules.

Lets make this year the most memorable for the children.  Last year the MEO collected 53 stuffed animals from the English Department, we would like to do better this year, the MEO would like to aim for 100. The drive ends Monday, December 14th, but the MEO will accept late bears by Tuesday, December 15th, at 2:00PM.

There will be two boxes to collect stuffed animals: one box will be on the 1st floor lobby and the other box will be on the 2nd floor in front of the MEO (2119).
