Lecturer and MFA Katherine E. Young's First Book of Poems DAY OF THE BORDER GUARDS Published

Katherine E. Young publishes her first book of poems, Day of the Border Guards (University of Arkansas Press).

Day of the Border Guards was published as part of the 2014 Miller Williams Prize series. Young's poem "The Bear" was featured in Redux #125 (April 2014). Young's translations of Russian poet Inna Kabysh were published in the spring 2014 Blue Lyra Review and summer 2014 Loch Raven Review. Young presented on “Literary Translation in the Digital World” at the Association of Writing Professionals (AWP) national conference in February 2014, guest lectured on “Poetry of Witness: Akhmatova and Tsvetaeva” at the University of Notre Dame (Baltimore, MD) in March 2014, and read her translations as part of the "Interlinear" panel at the April 2014 CityLit Festival in Baltimore, MD.
