Katie Kaczmarek received an award for Best Oral Presentation at the Universitas 21 Graduate Research Conference: Digital Future in Shanghai, China this June.

Katie Kaczmarek received an award for Best Oral Presentation at the Universitas 21 Graduate Research Conference: Digital Future in Shanghai, China this June.  A doctoral student, Katie represented UMD along with Natalie Taylor from the iSchool and Gordon Rinderknecht from Sociology.  Her presentation "Storytelling as Knowledge Production in Educational Alternate Reality Games" is based on her work with the collaborative creation and research of the game DUST led by Kari Kraus and June Ahn at UMD and Derek Hansen at BYU.
