Distinguished University Professor Robert Levine shares his fall news!

Bob Levine was featured as a "talking head" in the documentary "Becoming Frederick Douglass." The documentary aired nationally on PBS in October. Check out our own announcement here!

That month he gave a keynote on Douglass and Andrew Johnson at Texas A&M. He also gave a keynote on the same topic at the Douglass Day celebration in Easton, MD. At the celebration he shared the story of Frederick Douglass’ heated struggle with President Andrew Johnson over the rights of Black Americans in the years immediately following the Civil War.

Levine is also the General Editor of the newly-published 10th edition of The Norton Anthology of American Literature. The new edition is, according to the publisher’s website, a “diverse collection with innovative resources to tackle today’s teaching challenges.” A podcast featuring an extensive interview about the edition was posted to the New Books Network.
