Dylan Lewis, American Printing History Association Fellowship & Conference Presentations

In addition to winning the 2020 Denker Fellow for the American Printing History Association Chesapeake Chapter, Dylan Lewis presented in two conferences this year.
Dylan Lewis presented papers presented papers at conferences in College Park and Quebec, and co-moderated a talk by "Confessions of the Fox" author Jordy Rosenberg. The Denker Fellow for the American Printing History Association Chesapeake Chapter is a competitive fellowship awarded annually to a student with a deep interest in printing history, printing, or book arts. As winner, Dylan will be representing APHA at events, the APHA will support Dylan's research, and Dylan will also be speaking about his work at the Library of Congress in October 2020.
He also presented at the American Printing History Association conference held here at University of Maryland. At this conference, Dylan presented his paper “Graphic ‘Germanness’: Fraktur and German Nationalism in Early-American Print Culture.”
Dylan also presented a paper "‘Men, Women, and Italians’: Samuel Richardson’s Sir Charles Grandison on the European Continent” at the Canadian Society for Eighteenth Century Studies annual conference in Quebec City, Canada. There, he also participated on a roundtable examining the implications of Twitter for Eighteenth Century Studies (“#C18; or, On the Valuable Intersections of Twitter and Eighteenth-Century Studies”).
In addition, Dylan co-moderated (alongside PhD candidate Justin Thompson) a talk with novelist Jordy Rosenberg’s for the Eighteenth-Century Reading Group on Rosenberg's recent novel, Confessions of the Fox
