Creative Commons, a cafe serving snacks, coffee and other drinks, opened Monday in Tawes Hall, joining 11 other campus cafes operated by Dining Services, Dining Services spokesman Bart Hipple said.

The cafe sits on Tawes' first floor, which is home to the American studies and English departments. It's open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is connected to a seating area where students can socialize or study, Hipple said.

Junior English major Joon Kwak said the cafe was a "great addition" to the building.

"Personally, I spend most of my time here at Tawes, and sometimes when I'm feeling hungry, I usually just go down to Stamp because that's the closest thing," Kwak said. "Since this has come up, I've just come downstairs or just studied here, which is very convenient."
