Jacob Eckstein received an honorable mention for the 2014 Katherine Anne Porter Fiction prize.

Stewart Foehl’s young adult novel The Secret Ingredient (Random House) was nominated for the Lambda Literary Award. The award ceremony will be held June 2 in New York City.

At the Robert H. Smith School of Business Center for Social Value Creation's annual Social Enterprise Symposium in March, Amy Kincaid presented a mini-lesson on measuring impact and helped facilitate the Launch a Social Enterprise Workshop. In April, she led an interactive workshop for the 30th cohort of University of Kansas Washington, DC interns about for-purpose work. Amy was an intern on that same program decades ago. She also presented a workshop on evaluation essentials titled "Measuring Value and Impact" at the DC Sustainability and Social Enterprise Summit, hosted by the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) as the final event of DC Social Enterprise Week (April 14-18).
