Carla Peterson was published in the New York Times this month.
Peterson's piece, titled "A Black Preacher Addresses Congress," is about Henry Highland Garnet's role in the passage of the 13th Amendment. It is part of Peterson's life long attempt to bring important African American historical figures to the attention of the general public. Read the piece here.
