Yvonne Roe

Yvonne Roe is a proud lecturer in the English department at the University of Maryland. She earned her Master's degree in Teaching Writing and Literature from George Mason University and comes to UMD with over 15 years of experience in education.

For well over a decade, she taught Advanced English at one of the highest ranked high schools in Maryland and it was there that she began to understand the various needs of students. She is dedicated and committed to understanding her students -- something she has developed and practiced over the years through teaching in different programs. She has taught ENGL 101, ENGL 102 and Early College courses at Montgomery College. During the pandemic, Yvonne dabbled as a writer, including being published in Mother.ly. When she is not reading, writing, or teaching, you can find her at various sporting events, where she is raising three spirited boys.
