Liz Marshall joined the department as a Lecturer in 2021. She brings extensive health and science writing experience to PWP. She's written four non-fiction books for a young adult audience as well as articles for The Scientist, Oncology News International, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Bulletin. For several years, she served as a judge for the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing’s early-career journalism award. Liz's teaching experience also extends to health education. She was certified as a childbirth educator and birth doula for over 20 years and worked in a variety of public health positions. Liz Marshall holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Health from The Ohio State University.
