Headshot of Daniel Sidman on gray background

Lecturer, English

After receiving a B.A. in English from Colby College in 2011, Daniel Sidman received his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Columbia University in 2017. A freelance writer and humorist, two of Sidman’s published pieces could not be more relevant as we make our way through an academic year full of face-to-face, blended, and online teaching and meetings over zoom: “I’m Your Web Browser’s Private Mode and We Need to Talk,” published in the April 27 edition of the Weekly Humorist and “Dear Man Sitting Near Me at the Airport Picking His Nose and Eating His Boogers During a Pandemic” from the January 7, 2021 edition of Points in Case. A Reading/ Writing instructor at Kingsborough Community College, Medger Evers College, and LaGuardia Community College, Sidman has even volunteered his talents with Upward Bound at Columbia University (2016-2017) and the Cape Cod Housing Assistance Corporation. And for an additional interesting detail, he has played soccer since he was five years old and even coached a team of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Cape Cod Academy in 2014.
