Carina earned a B.A. in English Language and Literature and an M.A. in TESOL Linguistics at Central Washington University. While at CWU, she taught in-person, hybrid, and online First-Year Composition courses. She also served as a Peer Advisor at CWU Career Services, worked and volunteered for several international organizations such as World Vision, USA that supported local and international communities in western WA. Carina taught Business Writing and Technical Writing in the Professional Writing Program and Academic Writing at UMD in 2021-2022. Carina starts her Ph.D. program in the field of rhetoric and composition in Fall 2022. While in our doctoral program, Carina plans to focus her research on language ideologies, translingual and transcultural practices within academic and professional writing literacies. She is interested in framing her research from a transnational ethnographic perspective. Carina is an avid swimmer, reader, and always enjoys a good meal such as 火锅 with family and friends.
