Emily Mitchell is the author of a novel, The Last Summer of the World (W. W. Norton), which was a finalist for the 2008 NYPL Young Lions Award, and a collection of short stories, Viral (W. W. Norton), forthcoming in June 2015. She has received fellowships from the Ucross Foundation, Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Sewanee Writer's Conference and Breadloaf Writers Conference. Her stories have appeared in Ploughshares, New England Review, Indiana Review, TriQuarterly, Guernica, Alaska Quarterly Review and Harper's (forthcoming April 2015). Her review-essays have been published in The New York Times and the New Statesman.
