Two Students Named Winners for Intro Journals Project

Sarah Fang's creative nonfiction piece, "The Missing Pictures," and Kim O'Connor's poem, "Thrush," will be published in an upcoming edition of Colorado Review.

The Association of Writers & Writing Programs, recently announced that Fang and O'Connor are among a select group of MFA students chosen for the 2008-2009 Intro Journals Project. Intro Journals is a national literary competition that aims to discover and publish "the best new works by students currently enrolled in the programs of the AWP."

Sarah Fang's "The Missing Pieces" is one of four selected in the Creative Nonfiction competition, judged by two-time Pushcart Prize honoree Barbara Hurd.

"Thrush," a poem by Kim O'Connor, is one of eight poems selected for the award by widely-published poet Oliver de la Paz.

Fang's and O'Connor's works will be published in either the Fall or Winter edition of Colorado Review.
