Text and Techne a Great Success

July 13, 2010 English | Center for Literary and Comparative Studies

Congratulations to all of the participants in the Text and Techneconference held this past weekend!

Many thanks in particular to the conference co-chairs, Heather Brown and Tasos Lazarides, and the dedicated members of the conference organizing committee -- Jennie Wellman, Schuyler Esprit, Joe Kautzer, Alyson Doulos, Greg Wilson, Jasmine Lellock, Michelle Boswell, Lisa Kirch, Gerald Maa, and Rebecca Lush -- as well as Abby Mulhollen for her crucial efforts.  Putting the conference together, and making it a venue welcoming for both current members of our community as well as the prospective students who were present, was no small feat, especially when everyone already had a great deal of work to do without having the conference to consider.  You are all to be applauded loudly for doing such an amazing job in putting this together, in pulling this off.

The presenters, anchored by keynote speakers Jason Rudy and Matt Kirschenbaum, offered thoroughly insightful and broadly ranging work, and the audience's engagement in that work was palpable throughout the conference.  Congratulations, again, and thank you all for bringing such lively intellectual energy to manifest in this forum!
