Symposium Convenes on Second Language Writing

Paul Kei Matsuda, Associate Professor of English at Arizona State University, will be the keynote speaker for symposium on October 9.

All are invited to attend a symposium designed to open discussion about the increasingly important issue of second Paul Kei Matsudalanguage writing. The day long program on the challenges and strategies for success in teaching second language writing will have relevance for teachers across a variety of disciplines.

The keynote speaker will be Paul Kei Matsuda, an internationally known expert in the field. Matsuda is the founding chair of the NCTE's Committee on Second Language Writing, and Past Chair of the Nonnative English Speakers in TESOL Caucus. Matsuda's edited collections and major publications inclue Second Language Writing Research (Routledge, 2005), Second Language Writing in the Composition Classroom: A Critical Sourcebook (PalgraveMacmillan, 2006), The Politics of Second Language Writing (Parlor Press, 2006), and many others.
