Bob Levine Delivers Keynote Lecture, Among Other News

Bob Levine's essay "Melville and Americanness: A Problem," was just published in LEVIATHAN: A JOURNAL OF MELVILLE STUDIES. In October, Bob codirected a symposium at Texas A&M on “After Hemispheric American Studies: Transnationalism and Nineteenth-Century American Literature”; and gave the keynote lecture at a conference on Frederick Douglass and "The Heroic Slave" at the Frederick Douglass Papers in Indianapolis. In September, he gave a talk on Douglass, Lincoln, and Colonization at the Ransom Center at the University of Texas.
