Fall 2012
- Photography and Literature

In this class we will consider the intersection of photography and literature as an important precursor of and model for later developments in the interplay between digital technology and literary texts. The course will be organized primarily around two important moments in the photographic/literary dialogue: The American documentary realist movement born during the great depression, and the incorporation of photographs into post-modern narrative texts.

Junior standing. For ENGL majors only. Repeatable to 9 credits if content differs. Course intended primarily for students in English Honors Program. English majors with strong academic records may also apply. Permission from the Director of Honors required.
