Biography

Emily Mitchell is the author of one novel, The Last Summer of the World, which was a finalist for the 2008 NYPL Young Lions Prize, and a collection of short stories, Viral, forthcoming in June 2015. She has received fellowships from Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Sewanee Writer's Conference and Breadloaf Writers Conference. Her stories have appeared in Ploughshares, New England Review, TriQuarterly and Alaska Quarterly Review, among other venues. Her review-essays have been published in The New York Times and the New Statesmen.
