The department welcomes Sarah Blake, author THE POSTMISTRESS (2010), as Petrou Writer in Residence for 2011-2012.

Her current novel, The Postmistress, has been met with wide-spread acclaim. It has, at this writing, spent 33 weeks on the NPR Paperback Fiction Bestseller List (see more NPR coverage here [2]) and has been nominated for an Audie, a "best book" from the Audio Publishers Association [3].
As Writer in Residence, Blake is teaching a master class to MFA students during the fall semester. She will continue to serve as a mentor and reader for these students through the spring semester as they prepare for their masters' defenses. In addition, she will read from her work during the spring semester.
