The booklets were designed for Professor Christina Walter's ENGL428N "Food Words: Stories, Being, and the Gut" course.

On April 21, 2022 Professor Christina Walter's ENGL428N "Food Words: Stories, Being, and the Gut" course meet in BookLab to collaborate on the design for the cover of our Food Words Cook Booklet. The students worked together on creating cooking booklets based on personal recipes they investigated throughout the semester.

BookLab provided additional items for the project, including edible ink markers, edible paper (produced in BookLab), magazines to cut up, and stencils. The goal was for each of the print copies of the booklet to have a slightly different cover, produced by the assistants in BookLab and Karen Nelson from the Center for Literary and Comparative Studies (CLCS).

The booklets were made thanks to the Center for Literary and Comparative Studies' Beyond-the-Classroom grants, which funded nine specialty programs for undergraduate and graduate courses this semester.
