Cameron Mozafari and Michael Israel presented a paper titled "The Linguistic Construction to Thoughts and Feelings: A Cognitive Linguistic Introduction" at the 2017 Conference on College Composition and Communication's sponsored talk of the Language, Linguistics, and Writing Standing Group.  The paper introduces a type of subordinate clause construction--the content clause--as a way that language users express stance, thoughts, and feelings toward ideas, a move necessary in academic argumentation.  At CCCC, Cameron was also nominated and accepted the role of conference chair of the Language, Linguistics, and Writing Standing Group.
