At the Council of Writing Program Administrators conference in July, Jess Enoch, Justin Lohr, Britt Starr, Brandy Williams, Sarah Bonnie Humud, and Marina Seamans presented on their revisions to the English 101 curriculum so that it better emphasizes rhetorical education's relationship to civic engagement and social justice.

Their panel was titled "Radcial Redesign, Part II: Revising the University of Maryland's FYW Curriculum towards Social Justice and Civic Engagement." Faculty in the Academic Writing Program are piloting this revised syllabus during the fall 2019 semester.
