In the past decade graduates of our PhD program have been very successful at securing the tenure-track jobs in higher education for which they have been trained as scholars and teachers.
These PhDs currently hold jobs at the broad range of institutions comprising higher education in the United States: community colleges, regional comprehensive state universities; small, private liberal arts colleges; and research universities. From 1995 to 1999, tenure-track placements accepted by our students include positions at Auburn University, Case Western University, Hope College, Whittier College, Miami University, SUNY Fredonia, Wichita State University, Cornell University, California State University at Los Angeles, Texas A & M, and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. A number of our PhDs who initially secured visiting appointments at institutions such as Clemson University, the University of North Carolina Greensboro, Gettysburg College, Catholic University of America, George Washington University, Georgia State University, University of Missouri Kansas City, and University of Maryland Baltimore County, have moved on to tenure-track positions at other schools.
