Local Americanists: Brian Norman, "Dead Women Wanting: BELOVED and the Problem of the Ugly Citizen"

Feb. 8: Dead Women TalkingBrian Norman is Director  of African and African American Studies and Associate Professor of English at Loyola University Maryland. He is the author of Dead Women Talking: Figures of Injustice in American Literature (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2013), Neo-Segregation Narratives: Jim Crow in Post-Civil Rights American Literature (U of Georgia Press 2010) and The American Protest Essay and National Belonging (SUNY Press 2007). He is also coeditor of Representing Segregation (SUNY Press 2010).

Katie Stanutz, doctoral student in the Department of English at the Uiversity of Maryland, will provide a response.
