Creative Writing for Undergraduates
There are several different ways for undergraduates to participate in the creative writing community at Maryland.  Students may choose to do a Creative Writing Emphasis, which requires a minimum of four creative writing courses chosen from a sequence of workshop-oriented courses.  Students accepted into the Honors Program have the opportunity to write a creative thesis under the guidance of a faculty mentor.  Students may also choose to take individual writing workshops in poetry and fiction.  These writing workshops engage students in discussions of literary craft, the art of revision, as well as the art of close reading.
