ENGL398B - Topics in Professional Writing; Writing for Social Entrepreneurship
In this course students will develop the skills needed to start a business with a social mission or a new nonprofit program.  The major assignment is a writing project like a business plan, a website design plan, a fundraising proposal, or a concept paper for a new nonprofit organization. Other assignments include presentation/pitch to prospective investors/donors, marketing materials, and a job announcement. 
Students will also develop related collaboration and networking skills needed by effective social entrepreneurs.

This course satisfies the professional writing requirement. For ENGL majors to receive major credit from this course, they will have to have already fulfilled the professional writing requirement with another course. Repeatable to 6 credits if content differs.
