ENGL301 - Critical Methods in the Study of Literature

For English or English Education Majors, or English Minors. An introduction to the techniques of literary analysis, scholarly argument, the foundational insights of critical theory, the history of the discipline, and the challenges facing the humanities today.  Students will also learn research techniques, including the use of online databases of primary sources, as well as approaches to reading the different genres of drama, fiction, and poetry.


Must be in English Language and Literature program; or must be in Secondary Educ: English Language Arts program.
