Description

Also offered as LGBT265. Not open to students who have completed LGBT265. Credit will be granted for only one of the following: ENGL265 or LGBT265. A study of the pervasiveness of homoeroticism in literature from the Renaissance to the present. Emphasis on recurrent themes and motifs and the struggle to find voice within a context of stigma, suppression, and silence. Writers might include Shakespeare, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Oscar Wilde, Willa Cather, James Baldwin, Audre Lorde, and Adrienne Rich.
