Call for Proposals

The Instructional and Information Technology Group issues one-time grants up to $1,000 to instructional faculty in the English department at the University of Maryland who would like to explore innovative uses technology in teaching and learning.

Proposals for funding may be submitted at any time, and will be continuously reviewed by the group, but are awarded subject to the availablity of funding and the applicant meeting the following guidelines:

  1. Must be an instructional faculty member in the English department, including tenure-line faculty, non-tenure-track faculty, and teaching assistants.
     
  2. The proposed use of technology must have appeal beyond one's own classroom; proposals that pilot technology for broader use in future semesters, or that involve more than one faculty member, will receive priority.
     
  3. At the end of the faculty member's exploration of the technolgy, a written summary of outcomes must be submitted, according to the following guidelines:
    • For funding of $99 or less - 1 paragraph
    • For funding of $100-$499 - one page, double spaced
    • For funding of $500-1,000 - two pages, double spaced
