Teaching Assistantships

The majority of our financial aid awards are in the form of teaching assistantships. Doctoral teaching assistants presently teach three courses per year, or their equivalent. These full teaching assistantships also include ten credits of tuition remission and the option of participating in the health insurance program that the University offers to full-time employees. We also offer partial TAships to some exceptionally qualified MA students, which carry less tuition remission and a smaller teaching load.

PhD students who have come to the end of their teaching assistantships have the opportunity to apply for departmental lectureships.

For more information about the responsibilities of departmental teaching assistants, see the Graduate School website.
