Deadlines and Paperwork

The MFA program takes at least two years to complete and must be completed within a maximum of five years.

Students should be registered in continuous semesters or else petition to the Graduate School for a waiver in continuous registration the semester before taking off.  Additionally, all students must register for at least one credit hour during the semester in which they plan to graduate. 

All candidates for graduation must electronically submit an Application for Graduation at the beginning of their final semester.  Each candidate must also submit two forms: the Approved Program Form and the Nomination of Thesis Committee Form around the middle of the semester. These forms are available from Lindsay Bernal, the Creative Writing Program's Academic Coordinator.  Deadlines, as well as links to the required forms, are available from the Graduate School
